Commercial Driver Permit Preparation

What will I learn?
Attend an information session to learn more about the commercial driving industry and take an introductory permit preparation course that will prepare you to earn your commercial learner permit. This course will provide you with guided instruction to help you pass the Air Brakes, Passenger Vehicles, and General Knowledge permit exams offered by the NYS Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV).
What do I need?
A desktop computer, laptop, or tablet device with internet access is needed to attend the information session and the virtual permit preparation course.
How long will this take?
This information session is held once per week on Fridays from 12 – 2 p.m. The permit preparation course is offered once weekly and meets on Mondays and Tuesdays from 1 – 2:30 p.m.
What can I do after completing this class?
After taking the class, you can prepare for the commercial learner permit exams by reviewing the DMV study manual and taking practice tests. When you feel ready, you can sign up for the exam.
