What will I learn?

During the six-month, part-time evening training you will learn medical billing, healthcare accounting, data analysis, and other skills needed to obtain employment in the billing and revenue cycle departments of hospitals or other medical offices. While previous healthcare experience is not required, basic computer, math, and Microsoft Excel skills are necessary to successfully complete the training.

When you successfully complete the training program, you will earn a certificate of completion and nine college credits towards a Business Administration/Healthcare Management major at LaGuardia Community College.

What do I need?

You need a computer, laptop, tablet, or mobile device with internet service to participate in this training.

How long will this take?

The application process can take up to one month and the full training lasts five to six months. The application process will include English, Math, and Microsoft Excel exams, as well as an interview to demonstrate that you are eligible for the program, explain why you’re interested, and show that you have the basic skills and commitment required to succeed.

What can I do after completing this training?

After successfully completing this training and earning their certificate, graduates receive employment support and connection to job interviews at NYC-based hospitals and healthcare centers.
