What will I learn?

The Construction Site Safety Training Program will provide you with the required training to work on most construction jobs sites in NYC. The training is provided at no cost and will help you obtain your Site Safety Training (SST) card.

For those with no prior training, SBS provides 40 hours of required Site Safety Training for New York City residents who are 18 years or older. This training includes 30 hours of NYC Department of Buildings (DOB) approved training, 8 hours of fall prevention, and 2 hours of drug and alcohol awareness training.

For those with a valid OSHA 30-hour card received within the last five years, SBS provides a fast track to earn your SST card by completing the final 10 hours of training (eight hours of fall prevention training, and two hours of drug and alcohol awareness training).

What do I need?

If you take the course remotely, you will need a desktop computer, laptop, or tablet device with internet access is necessary to attend the virtual course.

How long will this take?

This training will take either 10 or 40 hours to complete.
